On a foray to Willow Lake in Prescott, I happened upon a curious sight. A sloth-like creature clung to the branches of a budding tree. Little did I know porcupines were such prolific climbers.

Red Crossbill aren't born with crossed-beaks. As they learn to extract pine nuts from pinecones, their bills become twisted. I photographed this female crossbill along the banks of Lynx Lake.

While exploring the Lynx Lake area during an early morning snowstorm, a flock of wild turkeys caught my eye from the road. I quickly pulled over and captured this gobbler posing on a fallen tree.
