Arizona's state parks are marking Earth Day (April 22) with special family-friendly events over the next two weekends.

The fun begins Saturday, April 20, at Oracle State Park, north of the Tucson area. The park is planning an all-day Earth Day event that features activities and entertainment, including live music and food, according to a news release from Arizona State Parks and Trails. Visitors can discover the park's trails and history, view wildlife, and stick around for the park's Star Party after dark.

The same weekend, Kartchner Caverns State Park, south of Benson, is hosting an Earth Day celebration featuring live animals, crafts and interactive activities centered on conserving the planet.

Conservation-themed activities continue the following Saturday at Red Rock State Park, near Sedona. The Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary, the International Raptor and Falconry Center, and other groups will convene for an Arbor Day event featuring games, guided hikes and exhibits from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
