Two people have died in two separate incidents at the Grand Canyon this week.

A tourist from Hong Kong was taking pictures Thursday when he slipped and fell from the overlook on the west side of the Canyon. The man was in his late 50s and was part of the tour groups visiting the Eagle Point observation area on Hualapai Tribe land in the Canyon's western section. That area and the nearby Skywalk were closed as the recovery mission took place.

Earlier this week, a visitor was killed at the South Rim. Officials have not released the details of the death, but the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office and the National Park Service are investigating.
