Arizonans can take a trip to a state park for free on Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend.

Governor Doug Ducey has announced all Arizona residents will get free admission to Arizona State Parks and Trails sites for the long holiday weekend.

Entrance fees will be waived Saturday, January 19, through Monday, January 21. Visitors must show an Arizona identification card to receive free admission.

From hiking and biking to simply enjoying the outdoors, the parks have a lot to offer for people of all ages.

Fees will still apply for tours, camping and special events, including cave tours at Kartchner Caverns State Park and entrance to Boyce Thompson Arboretum.

Arizona has 35 state parks and natural areas; you can plan your trip by visiting the Arizona State Parks and Trails website.
