Check out our readers’ best Arizona images. We’ve posted images from 10 finalists from each of the four categories in the Arizona Highways 2008 Online Photography Contest. Our judges, Director of Photography Pete Ensenberger and Photography Editor Jeff Kida, were amazed at the quality of the images that poured in. You will be, too.

Visit our Web site to see the finalist gallery.

Events

Face it, when the calendar page turns to September, most Arizonans begin looking forward to cooler weather. In the high country, fall color starts to pop and in the deserts, the evenings cool. And even though school is back in session, summer fun doesn’t have to end. This month, Northern Arizona is full of art and music affairs while the southern region celebrates with county fairs, a film festival and the blues. Since September means it’s time to gather in the crops, take in a pumpkin party or sip your favorite varietal during the wine grape harvest. Find an event.
